About the author

Andrew Jordan lives in Southampton. He edits 10th Muse magazine (some issues of which are available online, archived by the Poetry Library of Great Britain), and produces the Listening Voice newletter of the Equi-Phallic Alliance. He has had poems published in Angel Exhaust, Oasis, PN Review, Shearsman, Stand, and Tabla, and is the author of several chapbooks and two full-length collections prior to Ha Ha.

From November 2000 to May 2001 he was writer-in-residence at Haslar prison, then a Home Office Holding Centre, now a Removal Centre. Most of the detainees are refugees, including survivors of torture. The January 2005 issue of Poetry Review includes an article about the residency called 'Inside the Outside', available online.
