About the author
Anne-Marie Albiach is one of France's most distinguished poets, and a pioneer of the post-1960 avant-garde. Born in 1937, she lives near Paris, and is the author of Flammigère (Siècle à mains, 1967), État (Mercure de France, 1971), Mezza Voce (Flammarion, 1984), Anawratha (Spectres familiers, 1984), "Figure vocative" (Fourbis, 1991) and Figurations de l'image (Flammarion, 2004). She has also translated poetry by Louis Zukofsky and Keith Waldrop.
Most of her poetry has been translated into English by Keith Waldrop and is available in book form in the USA from Post-Apollo Press. the most recent such volume is Figured Image (2006).
