About the author
Richard Deming is a poet and a theorist who works on the philosophy of literature. His book, Listening on All Sides: Towards an Emersonian Ethics of Reading, was published by Stanford University Press in 2007. His poems have appeared in such journals as Sulfur, Field, Kiosk, Mandorla, and Shearsman. With Nancy Kuhl, he edits Phylum Press. He is currently a lecturer at Yale University.
