Peter Riley: The Dance at Mociu

Peter Riley

The Dance at Mociu brings together a number of the author's 'stories' of Transylvania, a remote part of Romania that he and his wife have been visting annually for several years, chiefly in search of local musicians, but also out of a growing fascination with this almost-unknown peasant culture.

Follow the links below to go to the author's preface, as well as two stories taken from the above volume, and to two new stories written after a visit to the same region in 2003. Photographs of some of the places and incidents described in the book can also to be found by clicking on the final link.
