Shearsman Books was founded shortly after Shearsman magazine in 1982, in order to offer collections to authors involved with the magazine. The press geared up substantially with a shift to print-on-demand publishing for most titles in 2003. In 2004 we published 18 new titles, 24 more in 2005, 23 in 2006, 42 in 2007, and 60 in 2008. The total in 2009 will about the same as this, but we will probably revert to around 45 titles in future years. Download a complete stocklist or catalogues for 2005, 2006 and 2007 by clicking "Download Catalog" from the download buttons to your left—these will take you to an intermediate page with details of the brochures available from this site, including the complete catalogue for 2008—this is more up to date than the print version of the catalogue, which was prepared some months ago. Samplers from most of the 2006 and 2007 titles are likewise accessible from the "year" pages in the menu to your left. Further samplers will be added and, in due course, all of our publications will have them except where copyright restrictions prevent it.
In addition, we make e-chapbooks available for free download from this site. At the moment eighteen are available; further e-books will be added later in 2008/2009.
An initial draft catalogue for 2009 is under preparation and will be made available for download here before the end of May 2009.
