Persian Miniature

It is the 'the' of the painting, it, the 'there'
          (Persian
          miniature)
          (Persian
          miniature)
It is the 'the' of the painting, it, the 'there'
          (Persian
          miniature)
          (Persian
          miniature)

Who's the archer in there, who's dying,
                    who's slain?
Who's the viewer out here, who's looking,
                    who came?

Summer chain mail (things do occur) it, the lightning
Small warrior (things do occur), scent CK One, so lightly armoured
Samurai armour (things do occur) it, such sensual war
Summer runners (things do occur), a message of shining
and the world stormed

          and that is 'the world'
          of the Persian miniature
          and that is 'the world'
          of the Persian miniature

(formula of rain) in the neat frame (hydrogen and kisses)
(formula of August) in the neat frame (the death of paint)
(icon of sense) in the neat frame (a tiny head, neat like a hazelnut)
(icon of sense) in the neat frame (and wisteria over a dusty doorway)

          Persian
          rain
          Persian
          rain

And falling, falling, falling

And so, too, to the next piece of eyes
