The Shearsman Gallery serves as the online equivalent of a chapbook series. While some of these resemble traditional poetry books, others take advantage of the visual nature of the web. The most recent publication in the series is Waddenzee, a sequence of poems by Kate Ashton accompanied by some atmospheric photos by Dutch photographer Gerrit Offringa. Follow the image to your left to begin reading this sequence.

We will be adding further work to this Gallery later in 2007. Still available on the site are the previous publications: Rupert Loydell's Multiple Exposure, accompanied by his own abstract paintings; Michael Smith's anthology of Spanish poetry; 2 sequences from Cadzow Bridge by Frank Gillougley; An Introduction to the Work of Michael Ayres; the long poem Firewriting by John Muckle, and a collection of John Hall's visual poetry, Through the Gap.

By clicking on the images to the left and right, you will be taken to the contents pages for each particular Gallery feature.

To view these pages we recommend a more recent browser, especially themost recent releases of Firefox, Safari and Netscape. Internet Explorer version 5.0 and similar releases will not represent the work shown here correctly.
