Recommendations

Tony Frazer Editor of Shearsman BooksIf you've been interested in what you've seen of the work published in Shearsman magazine or in books from the press, I suggest you try some of the volumes featured in these recommendations pages. In several cases the recommendations will be obvious to the informed reader, and the lists make no attempt to be either thorough or fashionable. They are added to now and again as missing books occur to me, or as interesting new volumes appear. Some German and Hispanic poets are listed, as I have a particular interest in those literatures. There are poets from elsewhere—France, for example—that I especially admire, but I'm not as well read in those areas and have decided to forego detailed recomendations. I should also say that this area is considerably out of date as of 2017 because I don't have the time to maintain it; thus some books may well be out of print, and there are certainly some books that should be there and aren't. Almost nothing has been added to these pages after 2014.
