Levin, Gabriel
Gabriel Levin has published six collections of poetry, most recently Errant (Carcanet, 2018) and the essay collection The Dunes Twisted Edge: Journeys in the Levant (The University of Chicago Press, 2012). He has also translated from medieval Hebrew Poems from the Diwan of Yehuda Halevi (Anvil, 2002); from the Palestinian Arabic of Taha Muhammad Ali ( So What: Selected Poems and a Story , with Peter Cole and Yahiya Hijazi, Port Townsend: Copper Canyon, 2006); and from the French of the Egyptian francophone poet, Ahmed Rassim, the latter published as The Little Bookseller Ustaz Ali (Ibis Editions, 1997). Born in France, and a long-term resident of Jerusalem, he now divides his time between Jaffa and Paris.
